The Flying Ace Farm is named for our OTTB (off track thoroughbred), Ace, who came to live with us in 2013. He had raced in Louisiana but was not very successful as a race horse. It was time for him to have a new job – a new purpose. So Ace came to live with us and began training to Event. His show name became The Flying Ace.
Ace truly was a gift from God. We watched as a partnership formed between Ace and our daughter, Melody. The years following brought moments of joy and sadness, times of lessons learned, and countless prayers answered with our boy, Ace.
The greatest compilation of all those things came in September 2015 when Melody and Ace won the 2015 American Eventing Championship in the Jr. Beginner Novice division. Ace happily lives at his namesake farm with his horse buddies, Penny and Winston. He enjoys being king of the pasture and friend to the barn cats.
